Marketing and Distribution - Key Terms
Marketing is the advertising and promotion stage of the product, where the production company gets the word out about their offerings, such as print, TV or online advertising.
Distribution is the process of actually getting the finished product into the hands of the consumer through various means, such as cinema releases, streaming services and physical home media releases such as DVDs.
The process of getting the product "to the consumer's grubby little mitts".

Synergy is the increased efficiency and profit that occurs as a result of vertical and horizontal promotion. Conglomerates are formed to create synergy in order to cross-promote.
